Research
In additional to financal assistance available to members, the Order of the Eastern Star, in California, provides for support of medical research, including research into cures for cancer, heart disease, and other medical issues.
At the end of the year, any Donations to the research funds are sent to organizations designated by the Worthy Grand Matron.
Cancer Research Fund
It shall be the purpose of the Cancer Research Fund to provide yearly donations to a charitable nonprofit organization engaged in cancer research, of the Worthy Grand Matron’s choice. — Constitution and Laws, Sec. 91A
Medical Research Fund
It shall be the purpose of the Medical Research Fund, as part of the California Eastern Star Foundation, to receive funds donated for medical research related projects sponsored by the Worthy Grand Matron. The Worthy Grand Matron or Worthy Grand Patron, in whose year the funds were collected, may designate a charity or non-profit organization to receive such funds. — Constitution and Laws, Sec. 92A
Grand Chapter Heart Fund
It shall be the purpose of the Grand Chapter Heart Fund to provide a yearly donation, of all funds collected during that Grand Chapter year for the Fund, to a heart related charity or organization designated by the Worthy Grand Matron. — Constitution and Laws, Sec. 92
