Scholarships
The Grand Chapter of California, each year provides scholarship awards to:
- Graduating High School students;
- Members of the Order of Eastern Star who wish to continue their education; and
- Students who desire to continue or complete their higher education.
Scholarships are based on scholastic record, character, need, and the purpose and need for higher education. There are six categories of Scholarships:
- General Scholarships — Scholarship Fund
- Religious Training Scholarships — ESTARL
- Business Administration Majors Scholarships — Gerald P. Cashion Memorial Fund
- Education — June Lucretia Barnum, PGM, Memorial Scholarship
- Engineering Major Scholarships — Gerald P. Cashion Memorial Fund
- Forestry Management and its related fields — June Lucretia Barnum, PGM, Memorial Scholarship
Applications are available on the Web Site. Please read the directions carefully, fill out the form online, and print out the applications for mailing. All applications must be received by the second Saturday of March to be considered.
Scholarship Fund
The Scholarship Fund provides scholarships in amounts ranging from $500 to $1000 for students attending a four year college or universitie and $250 to $500 for students attending a community college or vocational schools.
ESTARL
The ESTARL scholarships are up to $1000 for those attending a Theological College or Seminary.
Gerald P. Cashion Memorial Fund
The Gerald P. Cashion Memorial Fund provides scholarships in amounts from $3000 to $5000 to students majoring in Business Administration or Engineering.
June Lucretia Barnum, PGM, Memorial Scholarship
The June Lucretia Barnum, PGM, Memoral Scholarship provides scholarships in amounts up to $2000 for forestry management, its related fields, and education.
Scholarship Endowment Fund
The Scholarship Endowment Fund has been established to provide for long term funding to the scholarships provided by the Order of the Eastern Star in California.
