How is the amount of financial assistance determined? Each situation is reviewed individually, and the amount of assistance granted is determined on a case-by-case basis. Following a careful review of your financial situation, resources and needs, the Outreach Director, under the direction of the Board of Trustees, will develop an appropriate plan of care based on your needs.
How long may I receive financial assistance? There is no time limit. Assistance can be provided as long as it is needed. At appropriate intervals your situation is reviewed to determine your status. If your need for assistance changes, adjustments will be made accordingly. Some may require help for only a few months, while others can remain in need of assistance for years. As long as your situation warrants and you continue to meet the program guidelines, the assistance may continue.
Do I have to relinquish my assets to receive financial assistance? No. Financial assistance is granted to supplement monthly income. You do sign an Agreement to Repay. This agreement provides for repayment only if you become able to do so or from your assets at the time of death. In some cases you will be expected to secure this obligation with a Deed of Trust or other documentation.
