About Charlie Malonson
Food Services Director
Charlie has been employed at the Senior Living Community since December 2007. He was promoted to Food Service Director in January 2008. Charlie has been employed with Nutrition Management Services Company since January 2007. Charlie’s favorite part of his job is feeling like he is ‘at home’ and working with the ladies and gentlemen at the Senior Living Community to make their lives more enjoyable.
Charlie brings 40+ years of food service experience with him to the Senior Living Community. Charlie started his culinary career as a young boy working in his uncle’s restaurant in Wakefield, Massachusetts. Working hard and diligently through the years, he eventually progressed up the culinary ladder to become an Executive Chef. His culinary resume includes owner chef of his own seafood restaurant in Gorham, NH; Executive Sous Chef at a fish restaurant in Gadsden, AL; Executive Sous Chef at the Cliff House Resort, Ogunquit, ME; Executive Executive Sous Chef at the Red Jacket Inn & Resort, North Conway, NH; and Chef Manager at various accounts with Aramark Food Service, CA over the last ten years.
Cooking is more than a career with Charlie, it is his passion. Charlie derives his greatest pleasure in observing diners as they enjoy the meals he has either planned or prepared. He is always reading, experimenting, and honing his culinary skills. His special culinary talents are garde manage and seafood.
When Charlie is not at work, he can be found enjoying walks with his wife, Pam and dog, Tess. He also enjoys fishing, bike riding, swimming, camping, and traveling to visit family, friends, and new places.
