About Kate Weir
Outreach Assistant
He gave….to each according to his ability. (Matthew 35:15)
God gives us each assignments, “to each according to each one’s unique ability.” As God calls, he equips. As I look back at my life I look for what I have done well, what I have loved to do. As I stand at the intersection of my affections and successes I find my uniqueness. God gave me this assignment and he has given me the skill.
My life time work experience is so diverse. I have strengths, passions and a desire to make a difference wherever I work. The people who make a difference are not the ones with the credentials, but the ones with the concern. My work experience has taught me to back up what I say, to follow up, follow through and be committed to the job I am doing. I have had the privilege of working for “Michael Alan Furniture and Interior Design” working with creative designers, exceptional clients and assisting with creating a welcoming home. I felt truly blessed as this was what I originally went to college to achieve. Before this I actually worked for Marketing Company, “Daymon Worldwide”. This too was exciting, learning how to establish and build a solid private label, create sales, and make a profit. I was responsible for about 30 different grocery stores. One of my most cherished positions was that of a teachers’ aide for the RSP program at “Ranch View Elementary School.” This I admit was most rewarding, building the self esteem of a child who struggled with learning. My students were a gift, I myself learned from each of them, patience, endurance, understanding and love. Watching my struggling first graders graduate from High School with good grades was awe-inspiring. During this time I was also very involved with a Christian Group called “AWANA”. I was a Director for Chums and Guards, girls from the ages of 7 to 12. Establishing a good solid foundation from which these young girls could build their lives on, memorizing Bible verses, participating in community events and summer camps. I worked hard as a Team Mom for my sons’ baseball teams, PTA, PTSA and Cheerleader Booster Mom. And now, I have been given the opportunity to work with “Senior Living Community for the Eastern Star in California”. We have the power to change someone’s life simply by the words that we speak. This position truly meets the desire I have in my heart to help someone, to make a difference and put action behind what I believe.
Aging is a universal condition. We’re all getting older; God takes us by the hand and helps us to confront the facts with him at our side.
