Annual Report

As your Worthy Grand Matron, it has been my distinct privilege this year to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees for our Senior Living Community.  Serving in this capacity has afforded me the unique opportunity to work closely with our Executive Director and staff, to ensure and maintain a high level quality of care that provides for the respect and dignity of our residents. 

This has been an emotionally challenging year, as we spent much time and energy devoted to the details surrounding our pending litigation.  The diligence and fortitude demonstrated by our Home Board, staff and residents was commendable and worthy of recognition.  The Court ultimately ruled in our favor, finding no merit to the allegations filed against us.

Working with our StarCARE and Outreach staff has been an educational and fulfilling experience.  The work performed in this area, to benefit our members, has been extraordinary. 

It has been a pleasure to spend time with our residents at the various activities hosted in our beautiful facility.  Our Holiday Celebration was a festive evening which included an elegant dinner, fellowship, and wonderful entertainment.  Our Official Visit to our Senior Living Community was outstanding.  Sharing the evening with our residents, as our Grand Officers exemplified the Ritual work of our Order, will always be remembered as a highlight of our special year of service.  Our “007’s Wild Animal Park” Fiesta and barbeque was a huge success!  We thank the members for taking a walk on the wild side with us as we raised funds to benefit our residents.  Participating in the beautiful “Renewal of Obligation” ceremony, performed by members of Palo Alto Chapter, was a meaningful event that further solidified the fraternal ties we share as members of this Order.

The dedicated staff of our Senior Living Community, under the exemplary leadership of our Executive Director, Clair Meske, continue to provide a level of care and commitment to our residents that far exceeds the industry standard.  The manner in which they deliver services is incredibly professional, sincere and compassionate.  I personally thank them for their commitment and service.
