It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our golden chain has been broken by the passing of Sister Katherine Hill, PGM, on 30 March, Sister Barbara Poole, PGM, on 7 April, and Sister Donna German, PGT, on 19 April.

The 2012 Travel Program has been updated, and the new form is now available on the Special Projects Page. The Spirit Award Program information has also been posted to that page, and the log sheets are now also available.

Ruth's Harvest

Ruth’s Harvest

Our annual campaign grows with every donation, large and small. Just as Ruth worked in the fields to glean wheat for herself and her aged mother-in-law, so can we all help our sisters and brothers a bit at a time through the Endowment Fund, the Foundation, and Eastern Star Homes. So please click on “Ruth’s Harvest” on the left and follow the link to make your annual contribution. Thank you.

If you are interested in attending the 2012 General Grand Chapter Triennial Assembly, the registration materials are available here. (This link takes you offsite.)

Welcome to Eastern Star in California! If you are looking for a way to do something for others, and have a great time in the process, you are at the right place. We are a fraternal organization that is always on the lookout for adults of all ages who are trying to better themselves and the community around them. Please look below for what we believe in.

Our Values

We strive to live our lives by the enduring beliefs of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth, along with certain core values:

Friendship: We are the largest fraternal organization in the world to which both women and men can belong. With Chapters in almost all 50 states and in 27 countries around the world, members can go anywhere and know that they can find friends and a helpful hand when they’re in need.

Community Service: We encourage our members not only to help one another, but also to reach out to their communities. Members are active in many community-based projects for those requiring assistance.

Diversity: The members of our Order reflect the social, cultural, educational, ethnic, and religious diversity of the community around them. We value each other’s strengths and opinions.

Charity: As an organization, we raise funds for aid to our members in need, in addition to cancer and heart research, college/university scholarships for students regardless of age or membership status, as well as other charities. We also fund and operate a Senior Living Community for our older members who belong to California Chapters.

Vision Statement

The Order of the Eastern Star is a fraternal organization of men and women committed to providing an environment of friendship and fellowship, regardless of age, by implementing innovative ideas, facilitating positive change and planning for the future, while working cohesively with our Masonic Family.

Membership

While we are a separate organization, we are connected to the Family of Freemasonry, and as such have certain membership requirements. Women who are related to a Master Mason in specific ways are eligible as well as being Majority members of the of Job's Daughters International or the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. Men must be Master Masons in good standing to be eligible. We ask that you believe in a Supreme Being, be at least 18 years old and a resident of California, adhere to the laws of our Country, and not have been convicted of a felony. If you feel that you qualify and are interested, you are welcome to contact us at adminmail@oescal.org, and we will be happy to help you with the next steps.
